Pre-installation preparation
PREPARE
The floor can only be installed on a flat, level, firm, clean and dry cement base: making sure that it has been previously cured, because the humidity of the base and the mineral salts of mosaic could manifest on the surface of the same. It is important to include a small perimeter for the expansion, isolation and contraction of the mosaic and thus [i avoid cracks or breaks in it.
SUBMIT
If you wish you can immerse the mosaics in water before installation as this will improve its adhesion
VERIFY
Before attaching the mosaic to the base, place it on the surface and verify that it has the appropriate shape, in relation to the space and the shape of the desired figure.
Installing the mosaics
CUT
If you need to adjust the exterior mosaics, you can cut them with a diamond cutting disc polisher.
PASTE
Wet the internal part of the mosaic with a damp sponge to facilitate gluing.
Apply the mixture to glue the mosaic to the floor evenly, then apply it to the internal part of the mosaic covering it completely
BRUSH
Do not forget that it is important that the mixture to glue the floor is always brushed with a notched trowel in the same direction, and thus avoid the formation of bubbles that can cause the floor to rise.
LEVEL
The musaic must be pressed with the hands to put it in the correct position and level, do not use do not use any other device for this work.
Remember to leave a space of 1/16 between each mosaic
This tile is not leveled with polisher as is the case with marble and granite.
CLEAN
Do not leave any glue residue on the mosaic, these excesses must be removed immediately with end-of-work cleaner or king soap, a damp sponge, brush and sandpaper 150.
Since the installer is responsible for ensuring that your floors are installed and sealed properly, you can seal your floors before embossing them, or you can apply the nozzle and finish with the sealing.
The quality of the finish is in the care that the installer has. This decision is made by you.
PACK
The space between the tiles must be filled with nozzle or marble, NEVER tinted joint cement; the filling is applied with a spatula, without allowing it to fall on the tile. Clean the tile again until it is perfect.
Sealing the mosaics
SEAL
When the work is totally clean and dry, you will proceed to seal your mosaic with matt or gloss sealant according to your taste. Apply the sealant with a roller or brush, without exceeding the amount and observe the degree of absorption of the sealant. Remember that if you exceed the product it will not be absorbed by the mosaic and will dry on the surface leaving bright spots
VERIFY
After six hours, the bubbles will disappear and the tones of the tiles will be the same when the sealer is completely dry.
The sealant treatment minimizes the absorption of water and grease, reduces the porosity of the mosaic by protecting it from stains and giving it greater durability and resistance
The crystallization of the hydraulic music is another treatment that is applied with a rotary, using steel wool and products such as magnesium fluoride silicate. However, we recommend that this type of process be carried out by a professional.
CONSERVE
The mosaics should be cleaned with neutral soap and water, avoiding deterioration. DO NOT use acid or abrasive based cleaners or chemicals such as chlorine or vinegar.
To protect the brightness and colors of your floors it is advisable to apply liquid and colorless wax whenever you want.
